“Passiontro” is the opening track to Verbal Slevin’s The Passion Project mixtape.

“The Passion Project to me, is well, exactly what the name suggests. It’s an idea I toyed with for a long time, just doing whatever I wanted. You won’t find any real song structure, or pattern for that matter. There’s no real catchy hooks, just a lot of rappity rap rap. I simply chose beats that hit me emotionally first, shit that made me bob my head – and I went from there. I wanted it to sound like more of an album then a Mixtape, so there’s no Dj cuts, no interruptions. It just flows from beginning to end. I cover quite a few topics, but through the process I saved most of my written material for my upcoming album. Though, I still felt it was important to share these tracks – at least as an introduction. To me it encompasses what Hip Hop is all about. Taking life’s everyday frustrations and struggles and turning them into poetry. So, Love it or Hate it, I’m proud of it! That said, I hope you all enjoy.” – VS
