[Audio] Shifty Karma – Place We Live
Shifty Karma has released 2 versions “Place We Live.” The first is produced by Saiint Scarbzz, with the remix done by by Kevlaar.
Here is what Shifty Karma had to say about the track:
This was supposed to be a song of protest. An angry song about marginalization, political indifference, and, basically the Toronto Hip-hop Community’s open “love letter” to Mayor Ford. However, Released 1 day after a major reversal in extreme budget cutbacks on social services, working class lay-offs and a privatized sell-off of this city…it is now a song of celebration. Not in the sense the war for this city is by any means over, but as a reminder of a major battle fought and won…as well as the possibility of “winning” even being a factor. With the events of the last 24 hours in mind, Place We Live is now an open love letter to My city.
