TORONTO – New Year is the story of two artists – Apex Predator and Crossword – who vow to make a change, fed up with a state of stagnation. Armed with the motivation of the past year’s retrospect and the new year’s acumen, the emcees drop their excuses and storm their next 365-day cycle head-on. This is just the beginning, and with the understanding that the arbitrary notion of a New Year’s Day can be applied at any time, borne out of the celebration is a focused plan. In 2012, Apex Predator will be releasing his debut mixtape, and Crossword is working on his Eclectic mixtape and Different Light EP, as well as the vinyl re-launch of his band’s self-titled Vibonics EP.

The SARS Network was very busy in 2011 with classics like TRA’s “The Realness & Puzzle’s “Like Yo” Singles, But This Year S.A.R.S is starting 2012 with a BANG! The SARS Cypher is the first of many to come from The SARS Network, but let’s just say that this one is to kick down the door and solidify their intentions.
In this video, The SARS Network Formed a Cypher set up in an underground parking lot with the help of DJ Law with Da Beatminerz Radio (www.dabeatminerz.com). The SARS Network thought that ONLY a DJ Premier beat would be suitable by choosing Pitch Black’s “Nice” Featuring Styles P, with Powerful Punch-lines from Paradox, William Blanks, Caution Da Don, Episode Ace Holla, Puzzle, Tekman, TRA & Talksick. The Goondox are comprised of PMD, Sean Strange and Snowgoons. Raps of the Titans is off their upcoming album “Welcome to the Goondox,” and features a dozen rappers from all over North America, including Toronto’s Klee Magor. Others include Swollen Members, Jus Allah, Impakt, ODoub, Virtuoso, Meth Mouth Psych Ward and Jaysaun. It was directed by Tom Vujcic.
