Crossword recently released his new EP, Different Light. The project features appearances from Fundamental, David Delisca, Symmetry and fellow Vibonics bandmates Alfred Chow and Tacha. Production is handled by Justunlimited, Junia-T, Fresh Kils and LEF7Y.

Crossword released the first single from his upcoming Different Light EP last month, now he’s released the video. The project is set for release on March 21st.
Directed by Mike Charal, the video captures Crossword on an attempt to seduce a pretty woman at a bar, simply following up the conversation with the age-old question “What U Wanna Do?” Over the Junia-T (of the Smash Brovaz) produced beat, Crossword uses humor and wit to dig a groove that allows listeners to feel the song in its entirety.

After making waves with his eclectic indie-rock and hip-hop funk 6-piece band Vibonics and touring both Canada and the U.S., Toronto rapper Crossword is ready to pave the way for his brand new solo EP Different Light. The first single off the forthcoming Different Light EP is the laid-back, storytelling track “What U Wanna Do.” Produced by Junia-T of the Smash Brovaz, Crossword takes us on the journey of meeting a girl and the chapters that ensue thereafter, starting with the simple question of “What U Wanna Do?” Using humor and wit to compliment the carefree beat, Crossword digs a groove that allows listeners to feel the song in its entirety.

Led by singer Kubota and emcee Crossword, Vibonics are a band whose sound seems to cover a little bit of everything from soul to funk to rock to hip hop. This past September they released the self-titled Vibonics EP. Clocking in at just over 15 minutes, the EP is a good introduction to their music with some soulful singing over great instrumentals from a band who, from the sound of it, should put on a decent live show. Definitely worth a listen and I look forward to hearing more from Vibonics in the future.

TORONTO – New Year is the story of two artists – Apex Predator and Crossword – who vow to make a change, fed up with a state of stagnation. Armed with the motivation of the past year’s retrospect and the new year’s acumen, the emcees drop their excuses and storm their next 365-day cycle head-on. This is just the beginning, and with the understanding that the arbitrary notion of a New Year’s Day can be applied at any time, borne out of the celebration is a focused plan. In 2012, Apex Predator will be releasing his debut mixtape, and Crossword is working on his Eclectic mixtape and Different Light EP, as well as the vinyl re-launch of his band’s self-titled Vibonics EP.

Quality Control is the newest video from Crossword. It features L the 12th Letter and MC FÜBB and was directed by Jason Matos.
This past summer Toronto based MCS Crossword and MC FÜBB took a road trip to Chicago. They ended up in the studio and over the course of 2 days recorded tracks a couple tracks. The Toronto 2 Chicago double single release is the result, featuring Chicago artists Cada Bug and Shake LaBomba, it is available for download through their Bandcamp page.
