[Audio] Quills – Dreamcatcher (prod. Fresh Kils)

DC Cover Crop Test 9

“Dreamcatcher” is the title track off of Montreal native Quills’ debut EP. The song was produced by Toronto’s Fresh Kils.

Dreamcatcher (produced by highly acclaimed Toronto native Fresh Kils) is an autobiographical portrait of the man behind the music. An introspective ode to a lifelong journey; it is fierce and thought provoking, haunting and beautiful. Avoiding the trend of overproduction, it is stripped of excess; its charm lying in its honesty, its beauty in its implicit simplicity.

[Audio] Lancecape – James Brown (ft. Parker) (prod. Lancecape)

Mono_Mondays_2

This is the second single from Lancecape’s Return To The Classics Vol. 1 featuring fellow Monolith member, Parker.

Lancecape’s vision for this flip came from watching clips of some of his favorite DJ’s. Just watching how DJ’s flipped anything, by juggling two records sparked this entire project. This James Brown flip was played out live to capture the feel of a DJ routine. Just listen to the programming of the track and you should understand what Lancecape is talking about.

Parker, a long time friend and fellow Monolith member, completely destroys this beat. He showed up and proved why he should NOT be one of the most underrated MC’s in Toronto. He states “when writing this?, I was angry”. Lancecape welcomed the code talking, abstract flow and utter aggressiveness. Parker painted, framed and ultimately presented himself as the MC his hometown and the world need to recognize him as.
