Freedom Writers release NOW

freedomwriters-now-artwork

The collective known as the Freedom Writers have released their full-length album, NOW.

“This record has absolutely no right sounding as cohesive and consistently cracking as it does. The debut long-player from Toronto, ON super-friends Freedom Writers features contributions from five core MCs, plus an additional five vocalists, yet never once feels disjointed.” – Luke Fox, EXCLAIM! 8/10

The wait is over, the album is here! Toronto’s fan favourites the FREEDOM WRITERS have amassed a delicious 17 course meal of unabashed lyricism, uncompromising social commentary and unbelievable songs. 5 dangerous Emcees, 1 dedicated producer and phenomenal guest appearances by O.G. Toronto wordsmith Mathematik, soulful vocalists Ayah and T.R.A.C.K.S. as well as potent contributions from community minded artists Ian Kamau and Franz Thomas equals one jam packed, Hip Hop soundtrack you have to own.

[Video] Freedom Writers – The Grille (prod. Big Sproxx)

New video from Freedom Writers. Produced and directed by Big Sproxx.

Served up to you char-broiled, strait off an open flame, the “F-DUB” collective brings you its latest installment of pure, unadulterated artistry: The Grille. Local 24 hour diner The Grille has played second home to The Freedom Writers for the past 2 years whether the occasion be an all-night studio session, video shoot, a heated hip hop debate or just straight politicking. Filmed in one take Theo3, Tona, Adam Bomb, Frankie Payne and Progress terrorize the raw and gritty backdrop provided by in house producer/engineer/director Big Sproxx with the perfect blend of lyricism and punchlines that is sure to have listeners bopping their heads and twisting their grilles. Special shout out to our favorite waitress, Jackie aka Ja-kay… Woosh!
