Zane releases debut EP

Zane released his self-titled debut EP through Dopplegang Records.

Toronto native ZANE Has recently released his debut mixtape under Dopplegang records. With the release of this new music we hear a new sound in Hip Hop. Uncompromising and original ZANE is a perfectionist when it comes to writing and self producing his unique sound. Dopplegang is very excited to introduce this sound to Canada and the world.

Lancecape drops The Beat EP

The Beat EP is a collection of instrumentals that Lancecape used during the Manifesto Festival’s The Beat producer showcase and is the fourth project he has released this year.

Manifesto is an annual festival that takes place in Toronto every year. They focus very hard on bringing together the best of the best from Toronto and surrounding areas. Since it’s a Canadian event, Lancecape took it upon himself to pay tribute,by flipping samples used in some Canada’s biggest tracks from past and present. Lancecape made every beat from scratch specifically for the event. So instead of the beats possibly never being heard again, he has decided to release all the intrumentals as a FREE E.P.

David Vangel releases BNAPTH EP + video

David Vangel released his new hip hop/jazz instrumental EP last week via 5&1/4 Records. The project is available digitally as well as a limited coloured CD floppy edition.

BNAPTH is an instrumental HipHop/Jazz release showcasing the songwriting and sample work of Toronto’s David Vangel. Following the successes of his moodier releases with Berlin’s Equinox Records, BNAPTH offers listeners a unique vantage point in exploring the intersection between HipHop and Jazz. A fresh sound, the ep is poised to trickle through the vines of HipHop, Jazz, and music lovers alike.

Freedom Writers release new EP, SOON

With a full-length LP (NOW) nearing release, the Freedom Writers have released SOON, a new EP featuring 6 new songs. The EP is available for $3 as a digital download through Bandcamp and a CD will be available at Manifesto this coming Sunday. Guest appearances on the project are made by Via Linez, Mathematik and Sese.

Motive Music’s Hype has released his debut full-length project, Can’t Calm Down. The LP features appearances from Set2, Trish, S. Davis, Haze P., Dusty Wallace, Gee Wunder, Tre Nyce, Yaygo and others. Production duties were handled by Heavy-Weight Bangers, Tone Mason and T. Major.

Masia One releases Bootleg Culture Remixed EP

Masia One’s Bootleg Culture has been remixed and is available for download on Beatport now, and everywhere on September 24th. The EP features remixes from Ill Gates, An. Ten. Nae., TASO, Kraddy, Rex Riot, Man in a Loft and Rayna Zemel.

As part of the “bootleg” experience, stems and vocals from the original Bootleg Culture LP were made available to producers to remix and reinvent. This remix EP features the very best of these creations…and the music is incredible!
